This model was listed for a while in the F1 Specialities catalogue with the words “sold out” next to it. I don’t believe it is in produced any more. Modeler’s is a Japanese company with the slogan “We love motor sports and we love motorcars” printed underneath the Modeler’s trade name. The quality of the molding is every bit as good as Tamiya, in fact I have wondered if Tamiya may have some involvement with this company but I am not sure. The Tamiya paint code numbers are used to donate the colours used throughout the instruction leaflet, but both companies are Japanese.

I was lucky enough to pick this model up at an autojumble which I happened across whilst attending the Coys Historic Festival at Silverstone. I was amazed to find another company modelling 1/20th scale models of formula one cars. I imagine that if I had left the model unmade it may be worth something to a collector today, but I enjoy looking at the finished models in my display case rather than a box in the attic.

At the end of the 80’s, the Japanese Footwork Corporation made a deal with the Arrows F1 team and for a few years the cars were called after the main sponsor. They started off using Porsche engines which proved too heavy and uncompetitive, they then stated using Mugen engines and in 1992 enjoyed there best year with 7th in the constructors world championship.
