Hello and welcome to my web site. This site has been constructed by my good friend, Mr Terry Helliker, of Vidigraph Web Site Design.
Here is my collection of 1/20th scale formula one models depicting cars which raced from 1976 to 1992.
I started modeling at the age of 7. At that time I concentrated my efforts on various aeroplanes. I soon began to specialise, as most modellers do, and attempted to cover my bedroom ceiling with a collection of world war II fighters. This experience soon taught me the lesson of how plastic models attract dust and are impossible to clean.
I started modeling cars of the 1/32nd scale variety in 1986. At this time I started to take notice of Formula one racing, towards the end of the turbo era. It wasn't long before I began my first 1/20th scale model which is part of my current collection. This was the JPS Lotus 78. This model is made by the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. I bought a Tamiya catalogue at the time and was impressed by the range of models on offer and the quality of the mouldings. I decided to concentrate on the series of 1/20th scale F1 models which Tamiya produce and my intention is to make as many 1/20th scale models as I can. Some of the earliest kits in the Tamiya range are no longer made and are only available as collectors items. I have managed to find one in an Internet auction and have sourced some other 1/20th scale kits from other manufacturers. Apart from Tamiya, this scale is pretty rare, unless you have a lot of money and buy some of the more expensive kits available from Studio 27 or AMD , but these are often resin kits and require different build techniques
